To me, nature is the essence of my vision in art, making the wildlife and people are it’s proud inhabitants. Everything in nature is connected in some way, and is the most significant and influential aspect of my work. We coexist on this earth with the most incredible creatures, habitats, and ecosystems, which has always given me this need to appreciate and recognize the world that was here long before us. Through my different methods of creating art, I can share my love of nature with others.

In my work I am attracted to interesting shapes, repetitive lines, and beauty of abstract forms, found all around us in nature. Color is a crucial part of my work, as it is significantly connected to nature. If I find something that invokes an emotion in me, whether it is good or bad, I just have to capture it with my camera. I am always purposeful with my artwork, when I see a vision in my head and want to recreate it. I further expand on my photography by taking it into another medium by using digital manipulation. Through woodblock and lithographic relief printing, I am able to make my own representations of wildlife and nature from the photographs I have documented.

I also want to emphasize the raw magnetism that is this world we live in. By creating images that I find intriguing or fascinating, I want my work to generate a genuine emotional response for the viewer. I want them to remember those images long after they see them, and feel connected to the earth as I do. My work vastly ranges from carefully composed landscapes to vibrant portraits by creation and documentation of what I envision in my mind.
