BFA - Graphic Design
As a graphic designer there is no one set of rules I follow to create my work. I don’t limit myself to a specific style. I embrace my versatility because I enjoy the challenge of working on something I have never done or don’t usually encounter. Every client is unique so the style in which I approach a project with should also be one of its own.
I try to be as direct as I can in my work without compromising the design. Typography is an effective way to communicate visual material. With influences such as Paula Scher and Stefan Sagmeister I hold a great interest and appreciation for typography and concept. I’m also keen on patterns. I love to wear clothes that stand out and patterns tend to be the most successful. They can be the simplest of forms or the most complex creations. Either way it’s direct enough that people can almost immediately recognize it as being familiar yet still different.
My goal is to satisfy my clients by connecting their message to their target. Through my work I want to create an emotive response, something that gets the people going. Simultaneously, I want to create art that serves a higher purpose beyond looking superficial. I will always create art for the pure joy of it but functionality and simplicity are my standards to live by. If my work creates a feeling or brings to mind a substantial thought then I have succeeded.
